¡Hola, hola, hola! Hace poco fue el festival de Coachella, y tuve la suerte de ir, sobra decir que me la pase increíble y lo volvería hacer una y otra vez. Sin más ni menos, vamos a empezar a contar lo bonito, lo bueno, lo malo y lo feo.
Hello, hello, hello! Recently the Coachella Festival happened and I was lucky enough to go, it goes without saying that I had an amaaaaaaaazing time and I would it over and over again. So without further ado, let’s start talking about the pretty, the good, the bad and the ugly.
HOSDEDAJE/LODGING
Para ser sinceros no estuve muy involucrada en esta parte pero me hospedé en una casa muy linda cerca del festival (15 min). Piensen en la distancia al reservar, ya que transportarse involucra tiempo, dinero y muuuucho esfuerzo, créanme. El lugar donde me quede se llama Legends Residential, les paso el tip porque lo recomiendo.
Si piensas hacer camping, espero sean verdaderos guerreros y al menos ya hayan acampado una vez en su vida. Para salir del festival, me tocó pasar por el área de camping y aunque el área está en muy buenas condiciones, deben de estar dispuestos a utilizar el baño y ducha portátil, aparte de estar por hoooooras en tráfico para entrar y salir del camping, si han ido a Tomorrowland y piensan que el camping es algo similar, es mejor olvidarlo porque no lo es.
To be honest I was not involved in this part but I did stay at a really nice house near the festival (15 min). Please do think about the distance when renting a place, getting around takes lots of time, money and sooooooooo much effort, trust me on this one. The place I stayed is called Legends Residential, write it down because I completely recommend it.
If you guys are thinking about camping, I hope you are true warriors and have at least camped out once in your life. As I left the festival one night, I passed through the camping area and although it is in good conditions, you must deal with portable bathroom and showers, plus countless traffic hours to get in and out of the camping area, if you guys have ever been to Tomorrowland and think camping is the same way, well it isn’t so just let it go.
LA MEJOR MANERA DE LLEGAR/ THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE
Existen varias formar de llegar: Uber, Lyft, auto propio, caminando o lo que es sin duda la mejor opción bicicleta. Yo estuve llegando en Uber y Lyft, asi que la eterna recomendación es salir totalmente hasta que lleguen a la calle, y de ahí pedir el Lyft o Uber (usualmente Lyft es más accesible en este punto), y su tarifas de 50 USD a 15 USD.
There are many ways to get there: Uber, Lyft, car, walking but the best one without a doubt is biking your way there. I was getting there by Uber and Lyft, so the best recommendation is to completely exit all the way through the street and from there get an Uber and Lyft (usually Lyft is more accessible), and the rates go from 50 USD to 15 USD.
ENTRAR Y SALIR/GETTING IN AND OUT
Esta en realidad es la parte más fea de todo, tiene que caminar distancias de horror y hay polvo por todos lados, por lo que les recomiendo llevan un pañuelo y usarlo estilo cubre bocas porque en verdad esta canon. Caminaran aproximadamente una media hora para llegar a la entrada y lo mismo para salir. Salir si es complicado, así que recomiendo que se aprendan un color y sigan los letreros, hay gente con bicis que te transportan, así que si se sientes muy cansados pueden pagar 10 dólares por persona y voilá, aunque no los dejan en la entrada, si los acercan bastante.

This is actually the ugly part, you have to walk horrible distances and there’s dust everywhere, so please do take a handkerchief and put it in your face to cover your nose and mouth because it really sucks. You will walk approximately 30 minutes to get to the entrance and the end to exit, trying to leave is harder than arriving so just pick a color and the follow directions; there are people that can take you in bikes and they charge 10 buck per person, so if you feel super tired and about to die just do this lol and voila, they won’t leave you at the very entrance but you do get a lot closer.
THE FESTIVAL/EL FESTIVAL
Antes de llegar, bajen la app, registren su pulserita y listo, ya casi están hechos! Esa app se va a convertir en su mejor amigo, pueden ir escogiendo a los artistas que quieren ver y les dice manda un recordatorio 15 min antes de que se presenten, les dice dónde está TOOOODO (comida, baños, gift shop, bebidas). Así se pueden ir organizando su día y no perderse de nada, obviamente lo mejor llega en la noche pero durante el día también hay mucho que ver. Mis escenarios favoritos fueron el Main Stage y Sahara; esta última es usualmente donde tocan los DJs y la mejor fiesta del mundo.
Ahora ahí les va una parte triste, en este festival no se puede beber en donde les de la gana queridos, NO!!!, existen área designada para echar un drink y no pueden sacar las bebidas de esa área, por lo que antes de ingresar deben ir a una de las áreas donde les checa el ID, les ponen su wristband y listísimo. Comida hay en todos lados literal y super rica así que por comida jamás sufrirán, solo que háganse a la idea que todo tendrá fila eso sin dudarlo incluyendo y siendo lo más obvio, el baño tendrá una mega fila así que solo háganse a la idea y hasta disfruten su tiempo de espera.
Before you get there, download the app, register your wristband and you are all set! This app will literally become your best friend, you can choose the artists that you want to see and it will remind you 15 minutes prior their performance, it will tell you EVERYTHING (food, restrooms, gift shops, drinks). So you can organize your day around that and don't waste any time, obviously most of the best performers are at night but there's lots to see in the day time. My favorite stages were the main stage and Sahara; this last one is usually where DJS play so it is a dance party all the way.
Now here is the sad part, you cannot drink anywhere you want at this festival, NOPE!, there are certain areas to do so but before you get in, you have to go and get you ID check, you'll get a wristband and you are good to go. Food is everywhere literally and it is sooo good, just make peace with the idea of getting in line for everything especially the bathroom, you might as well make you peace with it and enjoy even your line there.
