FASHION: Critics' Choice Awards 2019

¡Hola mis amores! Mucho tiempo de estar desenchufada de ustedes pero me da mucha alegría estar de vuelta, y oficialmente la temporada de eventos comenzó, así que sin más preámbulos veamos los favoritos de esta entrega.

Hello my loves! Long time, no see and I am so sorry that I have been super out of it but I am super happy to be back, so red carpet season is official in order and without any further ado, let’s take a look at the favorites.

Nicole Kidman (Armani Prive)

Sabemos que Miss Nicole Kidman no se puede equivocar, y lució hermosa en un strapless Armani Prive (cómo era de esperarse), amo la parte de abajo del vestido, lo hace lucir muy elegante. Aunque usualmente soy fan de llevar el pelo recogido en este tipo de vestido para estilizar la figura, creo Nicole no lo necesita y lo contrastó al no llevar joyería en la parte de arriba.

Well Miss Nicole Kidman can do no wrong and she looked gorgeous in a strapless Armani Prive (as expected), I looooved the bottom part of the dress, it makes it look super elegant.

Usually I’m a fan of an updo hair for these kind of dresses, it makes you look slimmer, specially for long hair, but Nicole does not need any of that and she had no jewelry on top which makes it look better.

Chrissy Teigen (Maison Yeya)

Sinceramente no soy muy fan de este look, sin embargo, me encanta como lo porta. Siempre me ha encantado Chrissy, se sabe fabulosa y se comporta como tal pero en definitiva no creo sea el vestido más favorecedor para su tipo de cuerpo.

Honestly I am not a fan of this look, however, I love how she wears it, I have always loved Chrissy because she knows how fabulous she is and she shows it; but definitely this is not the most flattering dress for her body type.

Laura Dern (YSL)

Nadie sabe mejor cómo hacer sentir sexy a una mujer que YSL, la elección de Laura es magnífica, un vestido negro elegante, hecho a la medida y lo mejor es mostrar que ser sexy no es algo peleado con la edad.

No one knows better than YSL how to make a woman feel sexy, Laura’s choice is amazing, an elegant black dress, custom made and the best thing about it is that it shows how age has nothing to do with looking sexy.

Constance Wu (Rodarte)

Obviamente no podía faltar el glam del elenco de locamente millonarios, el color de este vestido es todo un sueño y nos da un poco de esa ilusión nude, el frente de este vestido lo es todo y Constance (o bueno su estilista) sabe perfectamente cómo vestir su tipo de cuerpo. La joyería es sumamente sutil, lo cual es muy acertada debido a la naturaleza del vestido. En verdad no hablaré de los detalles en los hombrosdel vestido que me llevaría siete páginas pero enserio es ¡increíble!.

Obviously the Crazy Rich Asians cast was going to bring their Glam-A-game, the color of this dress is basically a dream and is giving this nude illusion that I cannot take my eyes off. The front of the dress is everything and Constance (or her stylist for that matter) knows exactly how to dress her body type. Jewelry is subtle which is good due to the nature of the dress. I won’t even get started on the bow detailing on the shoulders or I will go on and on, like seriously, Wow!.

Regina King (Michael Kors)

Regina, toda una diosa del Olimpo, el morado del vestido combina perfectamente con la alfombra azul, el escote es simplemente perfecto para mantenerse con clase y los pequeños detalles de lentejuelas en verdad son la cereza del pastel.

Regina King, Queen and Goddess of the Olympus, this purple color is matching perfectly with the blue carpet, the cleavage has just the exact amount of tasteful, the sequins are just the cherry on top.

Emily Blunt (Prada)

La eterna rival de Andrea Sachs en el Diablo viste a la moda, ha demostrado que comer un cubo de queso al día para mantenerse delgada tiene sus ventajas porque luce asombrosa. Cabello, maquillaje y accesorios perfectamente combinados, basta con decir Louboutin, Jimmy Choo y Lorraine Schwartz para entender la perfección de la nueva Mary Poppins.

**El cubo de queso es referencia de la película, no lo hagan.

The endless rival of Andres Sachs in the Devil wears Prada has finally proven that eating a cube of cheese a day actually pays off because she looks completely stunning. Hair, makeup and accessories are perfect in every way, Louboutin, Jimmy and Lorraine Schwartz, no need for more words to understand intolerable perfection for the new Mary Poppins.

Charlize Theron (Givenchy)

Solo pondré la foto para que lo entiendan todo. ¡MÁGICA!

Poppy Delevingne (Oscar de la Renta)

Oh my Poppy! SI alguien tuvo un momento de princesa fue nuestra querida Poppy, el vestido es un sueño de pies a cabeza.

Oh my Poppy! Someone had a princess moment on the blue carpet and that was our dear Poppy, the dress is a Cinderella eat your heart out kind of moment.

Yalitza Aparicio (Prada)

Mi consentida, sin duda alguna, y no porque sea mexicana sino porque es la mujer con la belleza más natural y auténtica en toda esta alfombra. Me encanta el vestido, el cabello, el maquillaje, la joyería pero más me encanta ver a Yalitza sonreír y disfrutar cada minuto de una experiencia que jamás se imaginó vivir. Felicidades Yalitza, eres todo un ejemplo de una gran mujer mexicana y una inspiración para toda una nueva generación. Lo único que le cambiaria seria que para la próxima luciera un vestido de un diseñador mexicano. Que tal @benito santos?

By far, my favorite, and I don’t just say that because she is Mexican, I say that because she is the most natural and authentic beauty in all the carpet. I love the dress on her, the lovely long black hair, the make up, the jewelry but above all things, I love seeing Yalitza smile and enjoy every moment of something so far from home to her, something she never even thought of experiencing. Congrats Yali, you are a great example for a great Mexican woman and an inspiration for a whole new generation. The only thing I’d chance is the fact that she hasn’t let a Mexican designer dress her just yet. Could I suggest @benito santos?

Gemma Chan (Jason Wu)

Desde que la vi en Locamente Millonarios quede convencida de que esta mujer es un icono de la moda y en esta entrega lo dejó demostrado una vez más. En mi opinión, es la apuesta más arriesgada de todos los estilos (bolsos incluidos), sin embargo, funciona de maravilla. Es el romance total y absoluto expresado en una prenda y sellado con la cara de un ángel.

Ever since I saw her on Crazy Rich Asians, I knew she was such a fashion icon and this carpet confirmed the obvious. In my opinion, this is the riskiest and boldest look (pockets included), however, it works perfectly, for me, it is an absolute representation of romance in a dress sealed with the face on an angel.

Kiki Layne (Versace)

Disculpen mi ignorancia en la trayectoria de Kiki pero en verdad no la necesito para saber que Versace hizo un estupendo trabajo con el vestido para ella, el color del vestido resalta su piel de una manera que la hace brillar y la abertura del vestido hace que luzca un cuerpo envidiable. You go Glenn Kiki!

Excuse me for my little knowledge on Kiki’s filmography but I do not need to know anything else besides the fact that Versace chose the right person for this dress, the color of the dress and her skin combine perfectly to make her sparkle and the slit dress makes her look an incredible body. You go Glenn Kiki!

Dime algo chica, ¿eres feliz en este Calvin Klein?, Porque nosotros somos lo más felices de verte en este vestido, mi mejor vestida de la noche, tan simple pero tan hermoso, justo como Gaga. #OhMyGaga

Tell something girl, are you happy in this Calvin Klein? Because we are incredibly happy to look at you in this dress, to me, best dressed of the night, so simple and yet so beautiful just like Lady Gaga herself. #OhMyGaga
